What's on this weekend?

Having 11 Edward Mellor branches dotted around South Manchester and Tameside means we really do get to hear and see all the best bits of the place we love. As its St. Patricks day there’s lots of fun things going on to get you out and about this weekend, so we’re going to share a few events that are happening over the next couple of days so that you can make the most of Manchester this weekend.

Levenshulme Market

Where? Levenshulme train station car park

When? Tonight, 17th March, 5-9pm

Levenshulme’s night markets have gone monthly and this particular event is not one to be missed! They’ve teamed up with the Manchester Irish festival to bring you a one of a kind street party with three fantastic Irish dancing performances. Makers Market

The Makers Market Chorlton

Where? Adjacent to Chorlton Library and on the grounds of the Oswald Road Primary School

When? Saturday 18th March 10-4pm (usually every third Saturday of the month)

This is a fantastic family day out where you will find the very finest local food, drink, art, design, vintage and modern craft carefully selected from Manchester artisans and business local to the North West. The makers market offers the opportunity to meet the producers, browse the stalls, sample and enjoy the music and performance. Click here for more information

Beauty and the Beast Beauty and the Beast fun at the Lowry Outlet

Where? The Lowry Outlet in the Cuppa Coffee Area on the first floor

When? This Saturday at 11am – 6pm

To celebrate the launch of the new Beauty and the Beast at Lowry Outlet’s Vue Cinema, there is a host of FREE film-related fun lined up this Saturday that’s perfect for the little ‘uns (and any Disney obsessed parents). There are meet and greets with Princess Belle, arts and crafts, face painting and storytelling.

Irish Heritage Day

Irish Heritage Day at the Central Library 

Where? Central Library, Manchester centre

When? Saturday 18th March, 11 am

Manchester’s newly refurbished award winning Central Library off Albert Square in the City Centre is staging a special Irish Heritage Day. The event is being co-ordinated by the Archive department and features a display from the Irish World Heritage Centre, plus the award winning ‘Young, Gifted & Green’ exhibition and Mayo Manchester Tradfest. When? All weekend, 10-4pm (usually every third Saturday of the month)

With carefully selected artisans showcasing daily, be prepared to grab a glimpse at Manchester’s finest bakers, creators, designers and collectors. If you love unique art, quirky modern craft or vintage the Spinningfields Makers Market has an abundance of frankly stupendous individuals set to inspire. If food and drink is more down your street then fear not as we’ll have those taste buds tingling in no time at all with many fantastic food stands providing the great grub of Manchester.
