EDWARD MELLOR SCOOP THE FAMILY BUSINESS OF THE YEAR AWARD IN THE 2016 E3 NORTHWEST BUSINESS AWARDS!

Huge congratulations are in order for the whole Edward Mellor team for scooping the FAMILY BUSINESS OF THE YEAR AWARD in the E3 North West Business Awards which champion businesses doing great things for the region’s economy, its people and its communities.

Chief Executive, Colin Mellor, and daughter, Jessica, collected their trophy on behalf of the Edward Mellor team at the Awards dinner on Friday 3rd June at the Macron Stadium in Bolton.

The award was created to celebrate the family business sector and to recognise the diversity of family firms across the country and the contribution they make to the North West.

To be finalised for the award, Edward Mellor had to provide evidence to show investment in training and personal development of family members and employees to maintain and improve the business; evidence of significant growth and innovation in the company’s market sector; and evidence of achievement and performance that makes Edward Mellor stand out from its competitors.

On receiving the award, Colin said: “Being recognised for how Edward Mellor has evolved as a business whilst keeping its family values intact has been a really positive experience. We are a business that has embraced cutting-edge strategies and technologies, but our customers have not been left behind on this journey. The fact that we have been recognised for retaining our family values is a testament to a great team who enjoy being part of the Edward Mellor ethos.”

Speaking on behalf of 1 Events Media, which hosted and organised the awards, Managing Director Mubarak Chati said: “The Edward Mellor team should be very proud of itself. In 2016, the E3 Business Awards attracted the highest number of entries – and probably the highest calibre of entries – that our judges had ever seen. Winning against such impressive competition really means something.”
