The Withington Civic Society are taking to the streets this weekend to spruce up the local area.
Volunteers from across the community, armed with high vis jackets and litter pickers, will be clearing the streets of rubbish.
This community get-together is one of many events the Withington Civic Society host to help make the area a better place.
Their aim is to involve residents of all ages in protecting, regenerating and improving the amenities, environment, and heritage of Old Moat, Withington, and Ladybarn.
We love #Withington for its history and heritage, people and diversity, parks and green spaces and its part of a great city. There are some amazing people and incredible stories that have come from our village over the years which are still being told today…We love #Withington pic.twitter.com/hhj9EBKU2T

The community clean-up will take place this Saturday 26th of January from 11am-12pm.
Volunteers will meet at the Methodist Church near the library in Withington Village before heading out to litter pick.
Edward Mellor and a few other members of the local business community have provided light refreshments for volunteers.

It’s a great opportunity to do a good deed and mix with some local, friendly faces too.
Can’t make it this weekend? The next litter pick will take place on the 2nd of March 2019.
