Rightmove recently unveiled its latest Speed of Market Tracker, detailing the fastest and slowest housing market across the UK. Carluke in Lanarkshire, Scotland is currently the UK’s fastest-selling market for 2024, with the average home finding a buyer in just 15 days.
Within England, Whitehall in the South West is the fastest, with the average time to find a buyer being 25 days.
The North West of England featured prominently amongst the top ten fastest markets across England, with homes in Moston finding a buyer within 26 days on average, Heaton and Whitehaven each taking 30 days, and Levenshulme also taking 30 days – 17 days less than during the same period last year.
According to Rightmove, across Great Britain, it is currently taking 60 days on average to find a buyer. Terraced houses are currently finding buyers fastest at 51 days, while detached houses are taking the longest to sell at 73 days.
