A massive summer street party is taking over Marple this Saturday

The annual Marple Bridge summer street party is back this Saturday the 26th of May.

Organised by the Marple Bridge Association, this years’ street party will feature food, drink, live music – and giant lollipops.

The party will take place on Town Street in the heart of Marple Bridge from 1 pm until 5 pm.

Town Street will be lined with loads of bunting and plenty of tables for party goers to sit at.

All you need to bring are camping chairs, a hearty picnic, and of course, yourself!

If you do run out of supplies on the day, don’t worry, there are loads of local pubs and restaurants ready to help you refuel.

Four-piece cover band, The John Cooper Band, will be providing the beats for this street party.

You’ll be able to boogie along to their renditions of all your favourite songs throughout the day.

If your little ones don’t fancy a dance, there’s loads of live kids entertainment for them to enjoy too.

Tickets are available from Marple Bridge post office and the Northumberland arms, so be sure to grab yours before they sell out.

Adult tickets are £5, kids tickets are just £2 and if you’ve got a little one under the age of 5, they get to go for free.

It’s set to be a fun-filled day out for all the family, so make sure you check it out.

Street closure notice: Town Street will be closed to all vehicular from 11 am until 6 pm.

Diversions will be in place along Longhurst Lane, Hollins Lane, Constable Drive, Hogarth Road, Bonnington Rise and Lowerfold.

These are the diversions you can expect to take if you are approaching from Mellor and vice versa if approaching from Marple or Comsptall.
