Say hello to, At Covent Garden, the newest addition to Stockport’s booming food and drink scene.
Set on a small side street just outside the centre of Stockport, this new coffee shop is well worth the short walk out of town.
Although the West End in London might be the first thing that springs to mind when you hear the words Covent Garden – that’s not where this coffee shop gets its name from.
Believe it or not, Stockport has its very own Covent Garden. It’s a small street off Middle Hillgate which is where this new café is located.
Granted, it’s not quite the same as the West End but this Covent Garden has a show-stopping line up of treats on offer.
From a hearty breakfast menu to a lunchtime banquet – there are loads of things to choose from.
Sandwiches, salad boxes, jacket potatoes and burritos are just some of the choices you can expect from this new cafe.
The family-run business orders fresh ingredients from local, independent businesses where possible aiming to support other Mancunian traders.
If you’re partial to a good cup of coffee, At Covent Garden source and serve one of Manchester’s favourite coffee roasters, Ancoats Coffee Co.
At Covent Garden officially opened their doors this week and business owners, Becca and Chris Johnson, are looking forward to settling in Stockport.
“I just love food and people. I worked in sales for years before making the move to cooking 5 years ago. My first cafe was called, cosy corner café, which I set up in my hometown.” said Becca.
“One move later and here I am At Covent Gardens looking forward to getting to know the people of Stockport.”
Step-son, Chris, is also thrilled to be a part of Stockport’s growing food and drink scene.
“I started in the industry from a young age and fell in love with the day to day routines involved.”
“I’ve been in the specialty coffee business for 5 years and have made the dream move to a family run café where the best of both worlds truly come together” said Chris.
At Covent Garden is open from Monday to Saturday, 7.30 am – 3 pm. For more information, visit their Instagram page.
