Hoping to attract up to 200 youngsters aged 8-19 every night, HideOut Youth Zone will be up and running in Gorton from 2020

Costing just 50p per visit, this new £6.6 million facility is set to help shape the futures of the youth in Gorton.

Set on the site of the former Gorton baths, this project has been made possible by Fred Done. The Salford bookie very generously donated a whopping £6 million donation.

Alongside this, Manchester City Council has contributed £1.5 million. Additionally, they have provided the land free of charge and help with running costs.

With up to twenty different activities offered every night, the venue hopes to attract up to 200 youngsters.

The centre will have a huge sports hall, climbing wall, football pitch, IT suite, hair and nails studio, boxing and martial arts studio, recording studio, training kitchen and much, much more.

Open for 40 hours every week, the venue will be staffed by over 50 trained youth workers. Counselling, support for issues such as alcohol and drug abuse and careers advice will also be available at the centre.

The venue will be run by the charity, OnSide, who’s main aim is to provide youth zones for young people, and is aimed to attract kids from all across East Manchester.
