Online April Auction Round-Up | Day One

Today marked the start of our first online property auction!

Buyers began to bid in our April auction from noon, all from the comfort of their sofa.

This idea of bringing people together from across the globe who are all bidding in our virtual auction room is so exciting.

And with nearly 300 people registering their interest to bid at our April auction, our first online sale is off to a flying start.

Whilst we’re super excited to be hosting our first online auction, nothing quite beats the thrill of a live auction. Homes under the Hammer fans, am I right?!

Although there are certain elements of our live auction we’re missing – like the golden stand-up comedy from resident auctioneer, Nick Green – it doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the action.

We wanted to bring you a quick round-up of the highlights from the first day of bidding.

What’s the most popular residential lot?

We’ve had a lot of interest in pretty much all of our residential properties this April.

In fact, over 90% of all of our lots have individual people watching them, just waiting to bid.

However, the top properties with a significant amount of interest is lot 1 and lot 23.

These two lots have over 30 registered bidders each watching the property!

So keep your eyes peeled to see what these two sell for tomorrow.

What’s the most popular commercial lot?

We’ve got loads of unique commercial properties going under the gavel this April.

Although each one offers an exciting opportunity, the lot with the most interest is 33.

With nearly 20 bidders monitoring this lot, the freehold parcel of land in Hyde appears to be pretty popular.

How do you watch people bidding?

There’s still over half a day to go until bidding begins to close tomorrow at 12 pm.

We’ve had a great start to our auction and the excitement is set to increase as the countdown to bidding closes.

If you want to watch the virtual bidding, all you have to do is visit the history tab on our auction widget hosted at the side of the auction property.

It will show you real-time bidding, the bidding history and the highest bid on the lot you’re looking at – how exciting!

When does bidding close?

The auction will be live for 24 hours with the first lot closing tomorrow at 12 pm on Thursday 30th April.

Unfortunately, we can’t give you exact timings as to when each lot closes as it’s running in the same way a traditional auction would, and some lots will take longer than others.

Therefore we recommend you watch the auction from lot one tomorrow at 12 pm.

There’s still time to register to bid!

If you’re interested in bidding but you’re not registered, you haven’t missed the boat just yet!

There’s still time to register and place your bids on all lots going under the virtual gavel this April.

Before you make a bid, please do make sure you’ve read the full legal pack so you’re up to speed with all the paperwork.
