If you’re looking for a place to rent you might have a little scroll through Rightmove or browse the site of your local letting agent, right?
Your first go-to probably wouldn’t be social media…but that’s all about to change as of today.
Leading property portals Zoopla and OnTheMarket have announced today that they will both be advertising agents’ rental property listings on Facebook marketplace.
If you’ve not heard of Facebook Marketplace, it’s a feature that was introduced back in 2016 to help users buy and sell a variety of items. Marketplace was initially dedicated to peer-to-peer shopping but now it’s so much more.
As of this afternoon, the rental listings listed by letting agents on the two property portals are now available to view on Facebook Marketplace.
Prospective tenants will now be able to browse almost 300,000 rental property listings from Zoopla Property Group’s websites, as well as all of the available listings from OnTheMarket’s tens of thousands of UK agents.
People searching for rental properties on Facebook Marketplace will be able to filter by property type, price range and bedrooms.
Although this is great news for prospective tenants, it’s even better news for landlords.
Of course, you’ll need to have your property up to let with the right agent – as not all companies use Zoopla or OnTheMarket.
At Edward Mellor, we advertise all of our properties on Rightmove and Zoopla. Our landlords will be able to reap the benefits of this new feature from the second it launched today.
Managing Director of Edward Mellor, Peter Barlow, said:
“The digital footprint we have as a business and which we leverage to our customers benefit, is massive and certainly one of the key differences with Edward Mellor.
There is simply no other Letting Agent who comes anywhere near the digital reach and engagement we achieve. This is just another example of how we provide the best marketing platform to achieve the best outcome for our landlords.”
