There is a lot to offer in the popular suburb, including some gorgeous properties for families and first-time buyers alike.
What’s not to love? There is a local market, a soon to be microbrewery and a real community feel.
It has been the talk of Manchester that Levenshulme is one of the most up and coming areas. And now we can actually see it happening in front of us.
A new library, brilliant schools, beautiful parks, a train station and it has a number of incredible Victorian terraces which are available to buy right here, at Edward Mellor.
Our Levenshulme area valuer, Steven Hoyne, said: “There are some really exciting projects happening in Levenshulme and there is a real buzz about the place.”
“Crucially the existing community is embracing this change, see it as a really positive thing and welcoming in new people.”
Levenshulme has had a popular market for many years, with a bustling night time market once a month. This might also soon be joined by a foodie market.
There are café’s soon to open in the area, providing co-working facilities and allowing people to host live events.
A grocery store and deli selling organic fruit & vegetables are soon to hit Levenshulme. They will have some shelf space for smaller local producers to rent.
There may also be a microbrewery built, supplying Levenshulme beer. Is there anything the new Levenshulme doesn’t have?
Levenshulme also has venues such as The Klondyke Club, which is located right near Albert Road. This is a converted bowling club. It does events like wedding parties right the way to political meetings. One example of a group who meet at this club is an inspiring dementia group who meet once a week. They even have a community allotment for those who fancy growing their own food.
The former Atlas Engineering Works is now being developed by One Manchester, creating 64 new homes. Both apartments and four-bed houses.
Steven Hoyne added: “In the last 18 months we have seen a surge of interest but Levenshulme still offers great value family homes for both first-time buyers or families looking for more space – it is both hip and affordable.”
“And the people we are selling to now are young professionals looking for both character and community. The most popular streets are the tree-lined avenues in the conservation area but really both sides of the A6 are attracting a lot of interest.”
There are no real reasons why you would not want to live in this up and coming town.
