Application for a 101,500 sq. ft secondary school is set to be approved by Manchester City Council next week

Situated next to Hough End playing fields, the brand new school will have space for 1,200 pupils aged between 11-16 years old and will feature an all-weather pitch and four court multi-use games area.

Formerly a care home before it was demolished, the site is currently being being used by Greater Manchester Police as a police dog training area, horse paddock and sports pitches.

Although great for families moving to the area, the proposed development has been met with mixed reviews. Some have commented on how the development of the new school will subsequently increase noise and traffic pollution while others have stated that it will have a positive impact on the local community.
