Celebrating Romiley

Each week we like to celebrate something that makes Romiley such a special place to live. This can be anything from a local business, community group or a certain individual who does a lot for our local area.

This week we’d like to celebrate Prammies, Who Let the Dad’s out? and Just 4 Dads.

If you’re not from Romiley, we imagine you’re wondering what the above mention groups are. Here’s a quick summary of what these special groups do for families in Romiley.

Prammies

Prammies is open to anyone with children under school age. Mornings are made up of free play (while the adults catch up!) followed by circle time, with a bible story and nursery rhymes, then craft time for the older ones. And then more playing!

Just 4 Dad’s

Just 4 Dads is a stay & playgroup for dads, grandads or male carers who are looking after pre-school aged children (0-4-year-olds). Looking after kids can be a lonely job, so come and meet others in the same situation and have a brew.

Who Let the Dad’s out?

Every couple of months ‘Who Let the Dad’s out?’ open up on a Saturday morning for Dads and their kids. Sausage and bacon butties, tea, coffee, juice, activities, and crafts to join in together.

Last Saturday it was ‘Who Let the Dad’s out?’ at the Guywood Centre in Romiley, so we wanted to celebrate the team at St. Chads Church who put this together every month. The team also organise ‘Pram Pushers’ for children and their parents/carers twice a week.

Nigel and I help out at ‘Just 4 Dads’ which is the smallest of all of the groups and that alone can be hard work! So we can’t imagine the amount of time, energy and organisation it must take for the larger groups.

Thank you for being there, baking, being welcoming, making people smile and for truly blessing our village.

Thank You
