The Marple Food and Drink Festival is Back in Town This Weekend

Foodies, drop all your plans for this weekend – the annual food and drink festival is coming back to Marple!

With over 30 talented traders offering more local artisan products than ever before, this year’s event is set to be pretty special.

Marple’s most talented butchers, bakers and fairy cake makers will be taking over the Market Street area of the town this Saturday, 21st September.

From 10 am until 3 pm you can fill your boots with a mouth-watering selection of treats from a variety of stallholders.

Sample an array of English, Spanish, Italian, Indian, Cambodian and Jamaican cuisine.

As well as trying flavors from around the world without taking a step outside of Marple, you can also try a selection of fine wines and beers too.

You can expect to see a mixture of new traders and local favourites.

Included in the line-up is Marple’s much-loved deli, All Things Nice and award-winning South Indian restaurant, Chaat Cart.

Not only will there be an incredible selection of sweet and savoury food, but there’s going to be homemade gifts and crafts on offer too.

Expect to see loads of live entertainment throughout the day too.

There will be live music from the Marple band and loads of buskers providing tunes for you to boogie along to, organised by the Music in Hospitals charity.

To top it all off, they’ve even organised some fun activities for the little ones. The kids can get their face painted and create something to take home at the crafts station.

From small beginnings, the Marple food and drink festival has grown year on year. Now, it attracts large crowds from across the city, all keen to sample Marple’s unique festival atmosphere.

Here at Edward Mellor, we’ve seen the food and drink festival go from strength to strength.

We’re proud to be the main sponsor again at this year’s festival; it’s a pleasure to be supporting an event that promotes our local traders and community.

It’s a fantastic day out for the whole family, so make sure you don’t miss out.
