There’s a Tameside town that is racing ahead of its local equivalents when it comes to price increases.

In 2016 Denton has seen property value shoot up 15 percent and it is said that with a bit more investment into the area, including the new ‘Wellness Centre; and swimming pool being built it is predicted the trend should continue.

There are many desirable locations within Denton, one being Dane Bank. This is one of the most established parts of Denton and it was where three members of the famous hatting family J Woolfenden & Co who built grand houses in the mid-19th century.

Two centuries ago, Denton had a thriving hatting industry. A variety of hats were made, from top hats to woollen felt hats and the industry grew around this to support their production.

There is a high street of popular shops as well as the unique St Lawnrence church, also known as the ‘Old peg’ gaining its name as it was known for its wooden peg usage during its construction in 1530!

Not only is there a high street but the town also boasts a retail park, Crown Point. There you can find the usual outlets as well as the upmarket clothing shop, Flannels.

Another fantastic benefit to this town is Victoria Park with a Grade II listed Edwardian bandstand, the park is considered one of the jewels of Denton.
